As always, I’m reading a couple things at once. I’m enjoying some summer chick lit, Distant Shores by Kristin Hannah. This is the first of her books that I’ve read, and I’m really liking it! After this, I’m going to start the mega-hit, The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins. I see that they’re turning it into a movie – exciting! Finally, I am working my way through Vicky Moon’s The Private Passion of Jackie Kennedy Onassis: Portrait of a Rider. This one is always listed on Amazon for very expensive (even used!), but I ended up finding one on ebay, much cheaper, that was in excellent condition!

Two years ago my husband and I were wandering around gorgeous Saratoga Springs, New York. Upstate New York is unbelievably beautiful, and Saratoga, for any lover of horseracing, is perfection. You may remember my post from 2014, but we had a wonderful time at the historic track, dining and shopping downtown, and visiting the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. “The Spa” is definitely the place to be in July and August!

I still need to tell you all about my horrendous bathroom renovation that lasted months. But the good news is that it’s finally finished, and I am decorating! Pictured below though is an awesome vintage print of Triple Crown Winner, Whirlaway. My mom grabbed this for me for $5 at an estate auction. I hung it in my office and placed the first ribbon I ever won on it. Love the simplicity.

This is me, running from the work week! Happy Friday! This week just felt long and strange. I could never quite figure out what day it was! And it was so incredibly hot here in Maryland. It’s not uncommon for us to reach temperatures close to 100, but I’m glad we’re back down into the 80s today. Enjoy your weekends!
